Persons With Disabilities
The Lihue Airport consists of a single level terminal with all passenger accommodations conveniently provided on the same level without the need for elevators and escalators. The airline ticket counters, agricultural inspection stations, security screening checkpoint, baggage claim, visitor information booths, porter service, car rental, taxi service, and parking lots are located on the street side of the terminal.

ACCESSIBLE CURBSIDE LOADING & UNLOADING ZONES
Accessible curbside loading and unloading zones are available for active loading and unloading only. Vehicles are not allowed to be left unattended.
ACCESSIBLE PARKING SPACES
Accessible parking spaces are available in the parking facilities for persons with valid placards.
GUIDE & SERVICE DOGS
Guide/Service dogs are not considered “pets“.
Guide/Service dogs may qualify for modified State of Hawaii rabies quarantine import requirements under strictly enforced conditions. FIRST AID
Lihue Airport is committed to ensuring your safety and security at the airport. Airport Rescue and Fire Fighters are available 24 hours per day for first responder medical treatment and will refer to County Fire and Rescue ambulance services as required.

AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS (AEDs)
AEDs are located throughout the terminal.
PORTER SERVICES
Upon request, airlines will provide assistance to passengers with special needs through their Skycap (porter) services. Skycaps affiliated with your airline can provide assistance with public transportation and also boarding and disembarking at your gate. The Skycaps have been trained to assist travelers with disabilities and provide wheelchairs at the check-in counter, gate or baggage claim area. Please advise your airline in advance to arrange for any special services to ensure assistance.

TAXI & LIMOUSINE SERVICES
Taxicab and chauffeured limousine services are available on the Baggage Claim (ground) level. Persons using collapsible chairs will be assisted by the drivers.
MOTORIZED WHEELCHAIRS
Each airline will provide information on specific procedures for storage of wheelchairs and wet-cell batteries.
GROUND TRANSPORTATION
See the Ground Transportation page. The group tour operators have accessible vehicles available; however, you may want to notify them in advance of any special needs to ensure assistance.
RESTROOMS
Accessible men’s and women’s restrooms are available.

Text Telephones for the hearing impaired are located at the following locations:
- Central lobby, in front of the Restaurant.
- Car Rental Area, across the street from the ticket lobby.
