

Kapalua Airport is located on the west side of the Island of Maui a short distance from the resort destinations of Kaanapali and Lahaina. It is served by commuter planes.
April 18, 2022 – Following the court decision issued by the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Biden Administration officials have advised that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) public transportation masking order is not in effect at this time. September 09, 2021 – Gov. David Ige has signed an executive order that requires contractors and visitors at state facilities and on state property to provide their vaccination or testing status prior to entry. The Order takes effect on Sept. 13, 2021. MORE>>
June 24, 2020 – Electric vehicles have been able to park at airports free of charge since 2012. Electric vehicle owners will be assessed the parking fee at the airports and any other lot or metered area that was previously free beginning 12 a.m. on July 1, 2020. MORE>>
Oct. 23, 2019 – The Kapalua Airport (JHM) reopened today at 6 a.m. with normal operations following a large brush fire that was burning nearby. Power utilities have been restored. Passengers are urged to check with their airline to confirm flight details before leaving for the airport. People are encouraged to follow the HDOT Twitter account @DOT Hawaii and Facebook account by searching, Hawaii Department of Transportation, for updates and information.
Jan. 24, 2019 – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) announces that Transportation Network Companies (TNC) will be eligible to pick up customers at neighbor island airports beginning Feb. 1, 2019. Designated ride share pick up locations at Kahului Airport (OGG), Lihue Airport (LIH), Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keahole (KOA), Hilo International Airport (ITO) and Kapalua Airport (JHM) have been established by HDOT and are shown on the maps in the hyperlink for each airport.
